# Coupons

Coupons can be a great way to drive urgency to purchase or to increase loyalty of existing customers. Bunny's coupons are based on codes that you distribute to a wider audience who can then redeem the same code for a discount at the time of purchase.

### Coupon name

The coupon name is what will appear on the checkout summary and the invoice.

### Coupon code

This is a short code that the user will enter on the checkout summary page. Ideally, this should be something short and memorable, such as WINTER2023 or TECHCRUNCH.

### Coupon type

Bunny supports two types of codes:

* **Percentage** - a percentage will be subtracted from the total purchase amount.
* **Amount** - a fixed amount will be subscription from the total purchase amount. If the amount of the coupon is greater than the purchase, the checkout will complete with a zero amount and the remaining value of the coupon will be discarded. The currency of the coupon must also match the currency of the purchase.

### Redemption maximum

Controls how many times a coupon code can be redeemed.

### Redemption count

Shows how many times the coupon has been redeemed.

### Redemption end date

Determines the last date where the coupon can be used.

### Description

This field can be used for internal notes about the coupon and will not be displayed to the customer.
